Senior Consultant - Health Technology Assessment

Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join the Health Technology centre of excellence at DRG Abacus a Part of Clarivate. Working for a dynamic, highly successful market access consultancy that specialises in evidence-based medicine and market access you will play a key part in supporting the implementation of our vision and growth! Reporting to the Vice President of HTA (Health Technology Assessment) you will be responsible for:

  • Providing independent HTA project management and strategic advice to clients in order to provide effective solutions to their market access and HEOR business needs
  • Management of 1-2 associate consultants, or other staff members (e.g. project assistants) as required
  • Responsibility for managing projects from concept through to completion. This could be between 10-12 projects at any one time (dependent on project value and line managerial responsibilities) to produce an expected average revenue release of £700k per annum
  • Contribute to the delivery of multiple projects to a high standard and in line with company SOPs
  • Continually strive to extend our relationships and work streams within companies with whom we are working
  • Contribute significantly to the attainment of yearly revenue/profit targets as defined within KPIs for the Senior Consultant role
  • Independently develop proposals for new business from scratch; Coordinate and contribute to the collation and submission of RFIs (Requests for Information)
  • Identify business opportunities with new clients and contribute to the overall profitability, success and positive image of the business
  • Lead on and contribute to Thought Leadership initiatives to support the business
  • Contribute and lead Corporate initiatives to support company strategic direction

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 2:1 or above Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (or related) discipline (a higher degree is desirable but not essential)

Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role where you have had responsibility for managing HTA projects and being the key point of contact for the client, as well as business development responsibilities and involvement in corporate strategy initiatives
  • Extensive experience in managing health technology assessment projects both in the UK (must have) and globally (preferred). An in depth understanding of the processes, timelines, and strategic considerations is required
  • Experience in delivering at least one of the businesses key deliverables that feed into HTA projects such as, systematic review, health economics, statistical analyses or writing for HTA dossiers, for example.
  • Experience in responding to RFP’s (Request for Proposal) and in presenting pitches
  • Successful experience of new business development
  • Excellent understanding of the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry

Skills:

  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to manage own time and others time to meet deadlines and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Competence in use of the basic Office packages e.g. Excel®, Word® and PowerPoint®
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English
  • Skilled in the delivery of one or more core elements of DRG Abacus service offering (e.g.HTA, modelling, SR, etc.)
  • Ability to understand and interpret the clinical context of our client’s products
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and flexible with an ability to cope under pressure/with competing demands
  • The ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic market access communications, in both the internal and external settings
  • Experience of supervising, mentoring and training employees
