As an Account Executive, you will be tasked with generating new business via selling the Cortellis™ suite of solutions to small to mid-tier Pharma & Biotech, CRO’s, Financial and Professional Service companies. This role will be located in our brand new Chandler, AZ (Phoenix) office and report into the Sales Manager, Life Science products. The Account Executive will have a comprehensive understanding of the Life Sciences business to drive and develop a productive sales strategy. A requirement is to be competent with solution selling principles and practices and demonstrate a high level of professionalism to both clients and work colleagues.

Clients use Cortellis™ to enable precise, actionable answers to specific questions across the R&D lifecycle – from discovery and clinical development through regulatory submission and commercialization. Whether you’re enhancing target selection, stratifying patients and prioritizing indications or need to understand the regulatory landscape, navigate competitive threats and optimize business development decisions, delivering the insights needed to accelerate innovation with confidence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive new business generation with a focus on mid-tier pharmaceutical and biotech companies, as well as other key industry stakeholders, in North American pharma markets
  • Maintaining a robust pipeline for future sales by sourcing new prospects as well as qualifying inbound leads for conversion
  • Engaging and communicating effectively with senior (often C-level) decision makers both over the telephone and face to face (when safe to do so)
  • Accurately maintaining and developing prospect/client data via Salesforce.com
  • Collaborating with other commercial teams to maximize revenue opportunities from prospects and existing clients
  • Developing and maintaining a high level of product knowledge across a broad range of Clarivate's products and services
  • Attending conferences and events with the aim of developing new business and supporting existing clients


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • At least 2 years of B2B sales experience, ideally into the Life Sciences (pharma/biotech) sector
  • Comfort and ability to perform both telephone/web/remote based and face-to-face sales (inside and outside sales)
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience presenting to senior decision makers (ideally pharma/biotech sector)
  • SAAS or Experience selling Services into the Life Science sector is preferred
  • Experience attending and/or exhibiting at industry events and conferences
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communications skills
  • A motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Passionate about winning; A self-starter with a track record of success, ideally in and out of the workplace
  • Languages: fluency in written & oral English is a must
  • Proficiency in MS Teams, Salesforce.com, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel applications is preferred
