Executive Director of Learning Operations

The Executive Director of Operations position is pivotal to the success of DRG Learning’s corporate and business growth strategies. The Executive Director will shape strategy, identify workstreams, define roles and responsibilities, and establish metrics and outcomes. This role will lead execution of learning deliverables to clients and will drive engagement with DRG business units including: Provider, MedTech, Market Access, etc. The Executive Director of Operations role provides matrixed leadership to global, cross-functional, cross-divisional teams to drive operational effectiveness and a high-quality learning product to customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Vice President of Learning Solutions to develop an operational strategy and execute against the strategic plan
  • Research, model, and analyze data to support strategic decision-making
  • Lead a global matrixed operation for optimum efficiency while maximizing customer satisfaction
  • Lead projects as assigned; utilize project management methodologies to facilitate and monitor progress toward defined benchmarks and provide status updates to stakeholders
  • Able to understand and meet financial and operational business objectives
  • Help develop and manage to the overall mission and vision of the business
  • Communicate with management teams to direct and confirm execution of company processes
  • Identify ways to optimize operational execution without compromise to clients or compliance
  • Manage scheduled and ad-hoc delivery status reporting, citing progress toward goals/KPIs, proactively identifying risk with planned mitigation(s), and providing rationale for timeline and budget variances.
  • Work to ensure employee satisfaction is high and productivity continually increasing
  • Supervise by providing continued feedback, positive reinforcements and/or suggestions for continual improvement of productivity
  • Act as an integral member of DRG’s Learning Leadership Team
  • Interface with the various owners of DRG assets (e.g., Provider, MedTech, Market Access)


Qualifications – A successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in a managerial business position, experience with pharmaceutical industry a plus
  • Significant experience working across multiple business units
  • Ability to drive decision-making within a cross-functional and cross-cultural, global team structure
  • Strong executive presentation skills; ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Superior project management and organizational skills
  • Work effectively and cooperatively with executive management, customers, co-workers and vendors
  • Strong analytic capability
  • Ability to influence and negotiate in a matrix environment to optimize development and address barriers
  • Strong business acumen with extensive knowledge of e-learning production, business expansion, and employee management
  • A solid understanding of the healthcare landscape
