Cape Coral is a tale of two counties, with Lee Health controlling Lee County to the north, and NCH Healthcare dominant in Collier County to the south. The border area between the two counties is seeing population growth, which both Lee and NCH are positioning to capture with new facilities. The competition between Lee and NCH, which up to this point has been limited to the county line, could be boosted by plans for three new hospitals in the market, including proposals from Lee and for-profit powerhouse HCA. Lee Health is also taking action to become more integrated and expand its footprint geographically through the launch of Innovatus Health, a clinically integrated network.
