Baptist Health South Florida continues to shake up the West Palm Beach market with the acquisition of Boca Raton Regional Medical Center, though Tenet Florida and HCA East Florida continue to lead in inpatient volume. Independent hospital Jupiter Medical Center is becoming a stronger competitor in rapidly growing north Palm Beach County, expanding service offerings and affiliating with South Florida’s only National Cancer Institute designated cancer center, University of Miami Health System's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Palm Beach physicians remain relatively unintegrated, but will feel greater pressure to join larger organizations as the market coalesces around integrated delivery networks.
