Premium rates for 2020 coverage sold through Kansas state health insurance exchange are lower compared to 2019 although BlueCross BlueShield premium has gone up. Two new carriers enter the exchange for 2020. For 2021, insurers requested a mixture of increases and decreases. Enrollment in commercial segment remain steady, broad networks continue to dominate across the state. The state failed to expand Medicaid in 2020, which has been pushed to consideration next year. Seniors are generally seeing more options and plentiful zero-premium coverage options for their Medicare Advantage plans.
