Mid-Atlantic health plans are working to maintain or grow their enrollment bases through new products – Virginia-based Optima Health has introduced new group and individual products, and Kaiser Permanente is seeing results from its Flexible Choice product giving clients access to a broader network. Medicare managed care plans are seizing opportunities in the private fee-for-service market with UnitedHealth Group targeting Virginia and the District of Columbia and Aetna expanding into Richmond and Tidewater areas of Virginia.
