Healthcare reform is driving a new breed of business dynamics, everything from clinical affiliations and care delivery partnerships to health plan and supplier contracting. These power shifts signal new ways of doing business and illustrate that providers do not always need a payer to control how the money flows and how patients are managed. They also underscore the tangible partnership opportunities—and threats—for managed care entities in the ACO model.

April Wortham Collins is the Manager of Customer Segment Analysis for Decision Resources Group.

In her current role, Ms. Wortham Collins serves as a thought leader with expertise around value-based reimbursement models, including accountable care organizations, and their integration with organized customer groups within managed healthcare. She has had the pleasure of observing and analyzing the U.S. healthcare landscape through several different lenses, including 3 years spent focusing on healthcare information technology and the nation’s Southeast markets, including Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

Ms. Wortham Collins leads the insights portion of the NEW Organized Customer Group Navigator tool and has written and contributed to several white papers on the subject. Her latest speaking engagements include the 5th Partnering with ACOs Summit in June 2015 and the March U.S. Healthcare 2015: Targeted Insights webinar. She has been quoted in such national publications as Modern Healthcare and Population Health News. Ms. Wortham Collins is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
