Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed female cancer in Europe, and is also one of the leading causes of death from cancer in females. There are a number of breast cancer biomarkers including hormone receptors (HR), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) and BRAC1/2-mutations which are currently of greatest therapeutic interest, particularly for targeted therapies.
