Barriers to India’s Medical Device Sector

Thank you for your interest in our exclusive report: Barriers to India’s Medical Device Sector.

This paper is a summary of the findings from a study that DRG undertook in collaboration with AdvaMed on the barriers to access, awareness, and affordability of health care pertaining to noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in India. The paper examines the factors influencing shortcomings in meeting the tertiary and critical care needs of India’s population; specifically, it assesses the aspects of the current Indian health care system that have limited the use of various medical devices for the treatment of NCDs. DRG conducted thorough secondary research and interviewed industry experts, policy makers, and care providers to inform the analysis of the current medical device landscape and make recommendations for improvement.
