Health Insurance Market Researcher/Data Analyst

Job Summary:

The Health Insurance Market Researcher is an entry level position that offers an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate to learn about the health insurance industry and market research while providing room to grow as a subject matter expert. The Health Insurance Market Researcher is responsible for collecting and analyzing data on commercial health plans. The analyst will also perform secondary research and quality assurance checks on research.


  • Conduct outreach to commercial health plans to solicit research via online census tool
  • Collect health insurance enrollment and data via primary research methods
  • Gather secondary data/ research using various sources such as; state department websites, press releases, company websites and other credible published sources
  • Managing and manipulating numerical figures and large data sets
  • Perform quality assurance checks centered around identifying trends and possible errors in the data set with internal Decision Resources tools
  • Collaborate with team members in order to produce high quality output
  • Adhere to department timelines and documented processes



  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years of experience in one of the following areas; market research, survey and/or analysis. Similar experience and/or education will also be considered.
  • Detail-oriented with analytical abilities, documentation skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable communicating with executives at all levels via phone or in writing.
  • Strong Excel and internet research skills are required. Access and SQL knowledge is a plus.
  • The ability to work successfully as part of a team is key
  • Must be motivated and possess strong work ethic.
  • Self-management skills including; the ability to identify goals, define tasks and develop and adhere to timelines is a must.
  • Ability to follow detailed processes and procedures.
