Senior Statistician, Health Economics

Description

DRG Abacus a Part of Clarivate is seeking a Senior Statistician to join a consultancy of tenure which is continuing a great growth trajectory in Global HEOR and Value Communication. Working as part of the Health Economics team the Senior Statistician will report directly to the Head of Health Economics providing strategic statistical input into the generation of healthcare evidence by incorporating state-of-the-art statistical methodologies into resolution of client problems. As the business continues to grow there will be an opportunity to develop and manage a team of Statistical Analysts in the future and to undertake, supervise and deliver multiple high-quality evidence synthesis projects, in particular on time and on budget.

Roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead (technical) and manage (financial, administrative, client) projects that involve statistical analyses and reporting.
  • Provide strategic statistical input into the generation of healthcare evidence by incorporating state-of-the-art statistical methodologies into resolution of client problems.
  • Contribute to the statistical planning and design of studies by working with the Team Leader / Specialist Team staff /Project Managers both in projects with a primary statistical deliverable as well as contributing to projects such as cost effectiveness model generation
  • Contribute to/advise on feasibility assessments of proposed study designs and analysis plans
  • Contribute to and develop high-quality project reports
  • Statistical project management and delivery
  • Lead the development and delivery of training to specialist teams to promote understanding and interpretation of statistical methodologies and to expand the statistical skill base across DRG Abacus
  • Responding to RFPs & preparing proposals to present (with support) at client pitches
  • Business Development (proposals, pitches, lead generation) to achieve revenue targets

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Masters in medical statistics (or equivalent) with demonstrable experience

Experience:

  • Knowledge and expertise in statistics, including experience with working with large, complex data sets from clinical trials or real-world data and development of network meta-analyses and indirect comparisons
  • Good knowledge of statistical packages (for example, STATA, WinBUGS, R and SAS)

Skills:

  • Be able to obtain information, analyse and interpret results and present them to colleagues and clients who are not statistics specialists
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to work as part or lead of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the team objectives
  • Be enthusiastic, committed, and have an inquisitive nature
  • Excellent written English
  • Time management skills, including the ability to manage own time to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and flexible with an ability to cope under pressure / with competing demands
  • A good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
