Director - Systematic Review

Description

DRG Abacus is looking for dynamic HEOR professionals with extensive experience of all types of systematic review design and execution (clinical, health economics, epidemiology and health technology assessments) and delivery of strategic consultancy advice across the HEOR arena. Proactive and authoritative client engagement to support business development and project completion. A thought leader, who actively demonstrates expertise in SR methodologies, different therapeutic areas and markets of interest; is also abreast with recent developments in the healthcare and pharmaceutical space. A leader with line management and mentoring experience, who inspires teams to work cohesively to achieve business objectives. Demonstration of ability to cross-sell (outside of systematic review) and work with other DRG affiliates and proactively contribute to company initiatives.

Roles and responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Department management
    • Ensure that the team members have the necessary coaching, mentoring and training to progress through the competency matrix
    • Succession planning and creating scalable model for growth within teams
    • Oversee effective appraisal process and ensure career progression plans are in place for team
    • Oversee appropriate utilization levels within team, balancing supply (available resource) and demand (sold business)
    • Maintain active bank of freelancer support to facilitate effective management of demand peaks
  • Thought leadership
    • Stimulate and promote thought-leadership activities within team developing initiatives as appropriate
    • Maintain technical skills and insight including continued professional development and follow industry/scientific changes
    • Attend conferences and exhibitions, promoting and representing Global Access as appropriate
  • Strategic oversight
    • Pro-active engagement with the Practice Leaders to develop our service offering and predict client needs
    • Provide strategic advice that demonstrates understanding, experience and authority by offering effective solutions to meet client needs
    • Identify critical issues/opportunities and make recommendations on potential courses of action for the client
  • Project delivery
    • Provide strategic direction and input, liaising with client as appropriate
    • Take full responsibility for the quality and profitability of the end deliverable
    • Contribute to the delivery of the projects as required
    • Revenue and utilization: achieve personal revenue measurable business objective (MBO)
    • Comply with routine reporting requirements (i.e. month end, CIARO, contracting etc.)
  • Business development
    • Create and maintain a high-presence profile with clients
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities with new and existing clients
    • Contribute to and/or write proposals
    • New business: achieve personal new business and or bid team contribution MBO
  • Business management
    • Understand the performance of the business versus its targets and objectives
    • Pro-actively identify opportunities to maximize/increase/unlock revenue
    • Understand business performance drivers and suggest changes for improvement
    • Engage in wider DRG initiatives as appropriate

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 2:1 or above Master's degree in life sciences (or related)

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a technical management role
  • Significant consulting experience in a client facing role
  • Management of a team across more than 1 site (desirable)
  • In- depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical/medical device industry and the clients operating environment

Skills:

  • Ability to lead multiple projects
  • Ability to identify issues and propose solutions
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Strong business acumen and in-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
