Research Analyst - Healthcare Policy/Regulations

Working from our Milwaukee office, this role will research and write high-quality articles, reports, and other deliverables for an audience of hospital and health system leaders. Curious and detail-oriented, this individual will monitor changes to health policy and legislation in order to communicate the impact to healthcare facilities and patients.


Primary and Secondary Research

  • Research growing and dynamic trends within the provider industry, especially changing regulatory requirements
  • Conduct polling, surveys, and first-person interviews with hospital leaders and industry experts in order to report on key findings
  • Conduct secondary research to uncover literature, perspectives, and key insights relevant to healthcare leaders
  • Synthesize research to determine the implications for healthcare providers and patients
  • Compose thoughtful, well-organized deliverables on key industry shifts and regulatory changes—including regulatory summaries, articles, reports, and presentations

Monitoring Regulatory Requirements

  • Track regulatory/policy updates from federal agencies, state legislature, accrediting bodies, and large insurers to identify trends and develop subject matter expertise
  • Identify actions healthcare facilities should take to prepare for changes and achieve compliance
  • Keep internal and external stakeholders apprised of new and impending regulatory proposals, final rules, or updates/clarifications
  • Develop policies and procedures and other business documentation to support hospital compliance

Client Support

  • Interact regularly with clients to uncover their needs and business challenges
  • Conduct custom research on behalf of clients and keep them apprised of progress
  • Participate in client calls or on-site visits/presentations as needed


  • Undergraduate degree with a proven record of success
  • Degree in healthcare, business, politicial science, communications, journalism, or related field preferred
  • 1–2 years of relevant job experience, with experience in healthcare, compliance, or law setting (e.g., paralegal or legal assistant) strongly preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage time and projects with limited oversight
  • Comfortable working both individually and as part of a team
  • Highly self-motivated and demonstrates initiative
  • Highly adaptive and flexible in adjusting to evolving demands; able to balance multiple priorities and handle tight deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
