Associate Consultant (Health Economics and Outcomes Research)

DRG a Part of Clarivate is actively recruiting an Associate Consultant to join the growing health economics and outcomes research consulting team based in any three of our locations, London, Bicester or Manchester.

As an Associate Consultant within market access and health economics and outcomes research you will be involved in the following:

  • Provide project management and advice to clients in order to provide effective solutions to their market access and HEOR business needs
  • Contribute to the delivery of multiple projects to a high standard and in line with company SOPs
  • Continually strive to extend our relationships and work streams within companies with whom we are working
  • Contribute significantly to the attainment of yearly revenue/profit targets as defined within KPIs for the associate consultant role
  • Manage existing DRG Abacus accounts to maximise sales and profit.
  • Develop proposals for new business from scratch, under direction of a Practice Lead; Coordinate and contribute to the collation and submission of RFIs (Requests for Information)
  • Identify business opportunities with new clients and achieve personal targets in order to contribute to the overall profitability, success and positive image of DRG Abacus



  • 2:1 or above Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (or related) discipline (a higher degree is desirable but not essential)


  • Experience in a similar role where you have had responsibility for managing projects and being the key point of contact for the client
  • Experience in responding to RFP’s (Request for Proposal)
  • Exposure to new business development
  • Previous knowledge of and experience in one or more of our key deliverables such as global value dossiers, value stories/packs, health technology assessments (HTAs), systematic review, COA, interactive value argument presentations including budget impact models, for example.
  • Good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry


  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to manage own time and others time to meet deadlines and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Competence in use of the basic Office packages e.g. Excel®, Word® and PowerPoint®
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English
  • Skilled in the delivery of one or more core elements of DRG Abacus service offering (e.g.HTA, GVD, modelling, SR, COA, etc.)
  • Ability to understand and interpret the clinical context of our client’s products
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and flexible with an ability to cope under pressure/with competing demands
  • The ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Experience of supervising, mentoring and training employees (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic market access communications, in both the internal and external settings (desirable but not essential)
