Resource Manager, DRG Consulting, Philly or Boston area

As Resource Manager for DRG Consulting (DRGC), you'll manage the assignments for ~60 consultants in a dynamic, fast-paced strategic consulting firm.

  • Assign consulting staff to client engagements, which includes: assessing the project needs, reviewing available resources and options, and recommending team members that meet the requirements
  • Prioritize staffing decisions based on engagement and specialization requirements, timing constraints, staffing continuity and geographic considerations
  • Maintain a repository of individual’s skills and match individual preferences and development needs with appropriate client engagements
  • Review actual and projected resource utilization for projects. Anticipate availability of team members and proactively decrease the time that people spend unassigned, while balancing the workload of all client-serving individuals
  • Monitor unassigned staff, act as primary point of contact for unassigned staff and proactively identify assignments for these individuals
  • Regularly communicate any changes in personnel on projects, as well as any performance concerns raised by engagement teams
  • Identify over - and under-utilized team members and bring in additional resources to balance their workload with their peers
  • Eventually own the forecasting of hiring needs


  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience, with a strong preference for experience in a “project-based” work environment (i.e. professional services)
  • Ability to learn quickly (DRGC services/offerings to clients, strengths and weaknesses of staff, internal systems)
  • Demonstrated client service focus and solution orientation with a sense of urgency
  • Able to “push back” on requests that are not feasible or not in the best interest of the firm
  • Proven track record of creative problem solving including strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to maintain flexibility in an environment with constantly changing priorities
  • Comfortable communicating to others the things they don’t want to hear (e.g. a certain consultant is not available) and managing conflict
  • A “can-do” attitude with strong motivation to get things done
  • Confident and outgoing, with a bias towards communicating in-person or over the phone, rather than via email
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Position can be based in either Burlington, MA or Yardley, PA (just outside of Philly), please note that this is an office based role and not a remote opportunity
