Using Manhattan Research's new Digital Competitive Landscape offering, we combed through the HCP website offerings of the top 20 pharma companies (by U.S. sales) to analyze different approaches to asset organization. Our initial hypothesis was that the companies? website maps would fall neatly into a few archetypes.

Instead, we found a highly idiosyncratic landscape. No two companies have the same asset map.
Each company has a unique combination of the following five major types of HCP websites (apart from product websites): general service portals, therapy service portals, reimbursement portals, commerce websites and patient support websites. General service portals and reimbursement portals are the most common.
