Eighty-nine percent of online, type 2 diabetes patients use the Internet to search for health information, according to a survey by Manhattan Research. 

According to the survey, 66% of online, type 2 diabetes patients use the Internet to search for pharmaceutical information. 

The survey also found that 31% of online, type 2 diabetes patients use Health 2.0 tools. 

The most popular places for type 2 diabetes patients to post health content online are: message boards; other people's blogs; social networking web sites; and personal blogs.
